Terms of use

The rules of the place, in language you can actually read.

Last updated 2026-09-09

Branchwork is operated by Foxhole Research, Inc. Copyright © 2026 Foxhole Research, Inc. Using it means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use it.

Your account

One person per account. Keep your email address secure, because anyone who can read your mail can sign in as you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of the code, changes, reviews, notes and pages you put here. You give us the limited permission we need to store it, display it to the people you share it with, and back it up. That permission ends when you delete the content, aside from copies in routine backups that age out.

What you may not do

  • Break the law with it, or use it to harm someone.
  • Upload malware, or use the service to distribute it.
  • Attack the service or other users: no scraping at a rate that degrades it, no attempts to reach accounts or data that are not yours, no circumventing limits.
  • Harass people. Review the code, not the person who wrote it.
  • Post someone else's private information.
  • Use your page to host phishing, spam, or malware.

Content we remove

We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Urgent security matters may move faster than that.

Service, as it is

Branchwork is provided as it is, without warranties. We work hard to keep it running and your data intact, but we do not promise it will never be down and never lose anything. Keep your own copies of work you care about - it is version control, so you already have one.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Foxhole Research, Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, including lost profits or lost data.

Ending it

You can stop and delete your account at any time. We can end an account that breaks these terms. The sections about your content, warranties and liability survive the end.

Changes

We will post material changes to the changelog before they take effect. Continuing to use Branchwork after that means you accept the new terms.
